Good camera holding technique will help you achieve sharp images.
Hold the camera and position your body like you are holding a rifle to shoot.
Cameras are made for right handed people. So, face slightly to the right, and place your left foot slightly forward. When holding the camera to your eye, and pointing the camera at the subject, your head will be slightly turned to the right. You left hand will be under the lens to control the zoom and/or manual focus. Now tuck your left elbow in to your hips or just below your ribs.
You are now using your whole torso to bract the camera. With this position and a little practice you might be able to hand hold down to 1/20th of a second for short lenses.
Now, take a breath and let it all out. At this point take the image. Don’t stab the shutter button, just press it lightly.
